Dialogs:

NPC:/sigh Orchidna's story begins with the infamous mage, Prince Raeven. The man was obsessed with the Akasch. When the Fir Queen exiled him from his homeland of Daeier, he abandoned his daughter Kyprosa and continued his experiments in secret.

NPC:/angry Years later, a swaddled infant was delivered to the gates of Fir Castle. She had a strange, otherworldly appearance, and eyes that knew too much for one so young. The letter said she was Raeven's newborn daughter: Orchidna.

NPC:/sigh Even when she was an infant, people shied away from Orchidna. On top of being the bastard child of an exiled prince, she was wild. Unpredictable. And as she grew older, she gained terrifying powers that no normal magic could explain.

NPC:/contend I don't know how Raeven did it, but it is my belief that Akasch blood flows through Orchidna's veins. She is not some mindless Lost Gods cultist, or a fawning Naga. She is a child of the Serpents themselves.

NPC:/conclude But at the time, no one could have known. The girl was strange, with strange powers. And while she was an outcast in the eyes of the Fir Queen, her older sister Kyprosa loved her dearly.

NPC:/contend Though still a child herself, Kyprosa cared for Orchidna like a mother. She fed her, clothed her, and raised her when no one else would. She provided a balance to Orchidna's volatile Akasch nature, teaching the girl control.

NPC:/quarrel In fact, if left alone, Kyprosa's love might have been enough to overpower the Akasch's influence altogether... if it hadn't been for the damned Library Expedition.

NPC:/sigh During our adventures, Orchidna was trapped on the Gatekeeper's Throne. While the rest of us spent mere days in the garden, she endured hundreds of years of maddening isolation. Abandoned by Kyprosa. Abandoned by the world.

NPC:/talk Kyprosa was horrified when she learned the truth, and soon sacrificed her own freedom to take Orchidna's place on the throne. But the damage was done. Orchidna despised her sister, and the world that had betrayed her.

NPC:/foldedarms She fled into the timeless garden, disappearing for thousands of years. Many of us presumed her lost forever. But nearly a hundred years ago she reappeared--this time, with an army of Warborn at her back. The Demon War had begun.

NPC:/conclude The Warborn slaughtered countless innocents in Nuia, decimating Cinderstone and Two Crowns. The armies of Nuia put up a valiant defense, but they knew they were doomed. And then, as suddenly as they began, the attacks stopped.

NPC:/contend I was there the day Damian appeared. A young man, fair-haired, claiming to be Orchidna's son. He did... something... and the Warborn halted as if in a daze. He sent them east, to the deserts of Haranya. They left without a word.

NPC:/conclude I saw then that he possessed Orchidna's abyssal power, but showed no sign of her madness. He is the only one who can teach you that secret. This scroll will take you to the Demon Queen's Chamber; find Damian, and ask him for yourself.

Dialogs:

NPC:/arrogant Another hero, sent by the puppet master Lucius Quinto. His dedication to protecting Nui's people is truly impressive... but do you not fear being used? How many have died for that bard's grand design, hmm? How many more to come?

NPC:/foldedarms This is no idle question. The power you seek is dangerous. It is a whispering voice in the back of your mind, always tempting. Seducing you into acting out its will.

NPC:/contend Just as the Demons controlled the Warborn, before I freed them. Just as Lucius might control you, if you are not careful. Constant vigilance is the only way to wield such power. Guard yourself, or become a pawn of the Akasch.

NPC:/conclude When you are ready, focus your mind and grab hold of one of the ten swords in this chamber. I have imbued each with a fraction of my power. They will grant you that power, if you possess the strength of will to take it.
