Storing crests

Introduction
This guide contains an explanation about how crests can be added to the game, and it has a collection of templates. Each item also has an imgur link with a collection of images and templates.

The templates include:
  • Furniture crests
  • Gear crests
  • Vehicle crests

There are generally speaking 2 types of crests:
  1. A generic 256x256 image that takes up the entire size of the file and which would fill up, e.g. an entire blank canvas.
  2. Item specific images with templates that fit within a 256x256 image file and are designed to only fit to the corresponding item.
Note!
While some items are suitable to have the first type of crests, it can be much nicer to have a transparent background anyway, for example, on certain gliders and on boat sails. There will be a transparent ucc file added at the bottom of this guide, in the other basics section.
Guidelines
Good to know:
  • Don't despair if a crest ink just shows up as an empty square in the preview: it means the game is still loading it.
  • For boat sails and car hoods, apply crests to these items after unequipping them.
  • Cars, fishing boats, and clads can have crests applied to them directly.
  • Consider crafting a Brainstorm Storage Chest when creating a lot of different crests or collecting stamps. Also see the Storing Crests section.

Once you choose a template and/or have designed an image, follow the below guidelines to add it to your game.
  • all crest image files must be exactly 256x256 in size and can be created in an image editor of your preference.
  • put ONE (1) finished image in the AR documents folder at a time.
The path is User\Documents\ArcheRage\UCC and make sure the file is named ucc.png
This means the image file is a PNG file with the name ucc - no capital letters.
If it is another file name or file type, the crest will not show in-game.

  • Each crest will require one [Crest Brainstorm] to be created.
These can be bought for credits in the marketplace, or found in the auction house. Certain events also drop them, and the custom questline rewards a couple, namely from quest 11 in chapter 100.
  • To make a crest, use a crest printer, they can be found in the main cities, Marianople and Austera, and on upgraded plazas.

When using the crest printer, select the image at the bottom left of the printer UI, then click [complete], it's as simple as that!

Marketplace info

Press [N] (default keybind) to open the marketplace. Weekly rotated furniture can be found in the Main tab, and permanent furniture will be under the Housing tab > Crest Furnitures.

Of course it's also possible to use the search function to find what you need.

House customization
Nearly all houses can have crests applied to their walls, ceiling, and floor.

Houses which cannot have crests are:
  • The Beanstalk
  • Little Witch house
  • Mushroom house
  • Any mansion type
> not to be confused with the manor type
  • Breezy or Tidal Bungalow
 
At any other house, you can find a button to add crests in the Building Info ui, which can be accessed at the nameplate of the house.
 
 
Once you open the UI, you can choose which part of the house you want to apply the crest to.

Add your stamp by right clicking it in your bag, make sure the entire 256x256 size of the file is filled with the desired image.
 
After adding the stamp, it possible to preview it by clicking the magnifying glass (bottom left corner) before you hit the Apply button.
 

If you want to cancel, simply hit escape to close the UI if the preview is not to your liking.

 
Of course, to make decorating the best experience possible, there are also two varieties of a crest partition.
 
 
Choose the partition depending on what matches the house and/or the decoration. Apply the ink while the item is in your bag.
 
Be careful of where you place it! If it has to be picked up and readjusted, the crest gets deleted.

In the screenshot below, a [Crest Stucco Partition: A] has been used to match the wooden beams of the house.

Both the partition and the walls have the same crest applied to them.

Other basics
The items mentioned in this section all work with a basic 256x256 template. Probably the nicest way to approach this is using a digital canvas with a transparent background.
 
You can find a transparent template here.

As an example, it should look like this if you open it in Paint.
 
You can use some kind of snipping method to extract an exact image, after which you can paste it onto the template to then make a crest out of it, as seen in the example below.
List of “basic” crest items
 
 
These can usually be found cheap on the Auction house, and they can be acquired from opening [Big Belly Fish] - the 230k famed fishing item.
  • Clads
Applying crests to any of the 3 clad types will put the image on its flag.
  • Barrels
These are event vehicles that can only be crafted during the Rum Runner festival in Rookborne.
Crests can be applied directly to the scroll in your inventory.
  • T-Shirts
Shirts are available in the Marketplace and have various crafts to dye them a different colour.
 
 
Below is an overview of shirt types and their respective materials. They can all be crafted at a [Cloth Armor Form]. 
Note that crests will have to be applied after crafting the shirt with the desired colour.
  • Sails
All ship sails can have a crest by applying the crest ink to the item while it's in your inventory.
 
Make sure to use the transparent canvas to avoid having a random square background that doesn't match the sail's size/design.
  • Guild decor
While these were event rewards on the closed down Legacy servers, the guild decor items are in the marketplace rotation on this server.

Storing Crests
Pocket chest
The Design Chest is one of many pocket chests found in the marketplace, and can hold 30 items at its default stage.
 
 
The pocket chest can be upgraded twice and for that each upgrade needs:
  • An empty the chest
  • 2x [Bound Expansion Scroll]

House chest
It is possible to craft a Brainstorm Storage Chest (wiki recipe page). It can instantly hold 100 items, unlike the pocket chest.

Good to know
This is a dimensional storage chest and each house has a limited number of slots for these, from one slot on a cottage to four slots on a mansion or beanstalk.
